I started my portrait photography business 12 years ago after a career as a middle school teacher and being a stay at home mom. I love talking to people, hearing their stories, making connections and learning what makes them special.
My ultimate goal as a photographer is to capture who you are at this pivotal time in your life. Not just what you look like, but a reflection of who you are inside, what you care about and a glimmer of who you will become. My sessions aren't just painless, they are fun! We will joke and laugh, but I will also create some moments of reflection. I want to capture all the sides of you because, in the end, the photos for your final gallery will be chosen by you.
In an age where differences are not always celebrated, I feel it's important to say that I am a safe place. I have had the opportunity to do photos for people with a variety of disabilities, people of many different races and sexual orientation. To see what parents say about my sessions, look below at a few testimonials including one from a parent of a blind senior.
From years of working with teens, I know that anxiety can look different on them and in the age of social media, there is a lot of visual pressure on all of us. Before our session, we will create a planning board with outfits, accessories, colors, locations and even posing ideas. During our session, I will stop and let you look at the photos. Looking back at the photos can help us get comfortable with being in front of the camera and helps poses become more natural. That is when your beautiful soul shines through. I can't wait to see it!

"I can't tell you how much fun Zinni and I had yesterday. I was pretty much dreading a photo session with her, and she was pretty nervous about the whole thing. I was just hoping to keep it as painless as possible. But it was better than painless - it was great! Without even seeing the photos, I know they are gorgeous. Thank you for bringing out the joy in Zinni. (And making sure the weather was perfect.)"

"Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for yesterday!! You made the experience so fun for Holly - I'm so thanksful. I kind of had to twist her arm into even doing professional photos, but she had so much fun and felt so good about herself afterwards. All thanks to YOU! You are SO good at this!"
